Cards, dice, and pieces

Use the shared table and its built-in objects.

Dice

For your personal tray, choose Table Actions > Dice Box. Use Add to stock it with numbered d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20 dice, or the Rounded and Square pipped d6 options. Roll rolls your tray dice, Scoop gathers them back into position, Clear removes them, and Put Away removes the tray and its dice. Back returns your view to the table.

Helpers and GMs can also spawn table dice through Library > Objects & Dispensers > Dice. Ordinary players can use their personal Dice Box without Library access. Dice in a tray remain visible to other players.

Double-click or double-tap a die to inspect it. Change its Color, Text, or Presets, and use Custom for uploaded textures. The tray's Colors, Finish, and Custom menus apply across your tray dice. See dice texture uploads.

Cards and private hands

Click or tap a deck to draw its top card to your hand. Drag from it to deal a card to the table. Right-click the deck, or long-press on touch, for Shuffle, Split, Draw to hand, and Peek at top card. Move a whole deck with a right-drag, or press and drag its Move menu action.

A table card goes to your hand with a click or tap. Right-click flips it; touch users choose Flip from its long-press menu. See Controls for playing cards face-up or face-down, inspection, and hand sorting.

Ordinary face-down cards keep their fronts private. Double-sided tiles have two visible faces and are not secret cards. Deck order and private hands stay on the server and are sent only through authorized actions. Your hand's Show controls reveal selected cards to the audience you choose.

Browse a deck

Choose Browse deck… from a deck's action menu to view its cards privately. Browsing starts as GM-only. A GM can choose Allow player browsing in that menu to let active players browse that deck, or Restrict browsing to GMs to turn it off.

Use Previous and Next, then To hand, Face-up, Face-down, To top, or To bottom for the displayed card. Close leaves the order unchanged unless you performed an action. Only one player can browse a deck at a time; draws, shuffles, and combines wait until browsing ends. Spectators and timed-out players cannot browse.

Props and dispensers

Helpers and GMs find objects under Library > Objects & Dispensers > Objects and containers under Dispensers. Built-ins include chess pieces, checkers, Go stones, coins, poker chips, tokens, and basic shapes.

Click or drag from a dispenser to take one item. Right-drag moves the container; touch users can drag its Move action. Finite chip and coin stacks shrink as items are taken. Go bowls supply stones without a finite count. Drop compatible pieces back onto a dispenser to return them.

Use Multi-Select > Gather when available to collect matching pieces or stacks. Combine collects compatible cards/decks or notecards/stacks. Incompatible pieces cannot be combined.

Boards, grids, and measurement

GMs choose a board through Library > Boards, Mats & Notecards > Boards. Spawning a board replaces the current board; use Mats for additional image surfaces.

Open GM Controls > Table Settings > Scale & Grid, or Menu > Room > Table Settings on a narrow screen. Set square or hex cells, spacing, offsets, visibility, and measurement units. Hiding grid lines still allows snapping. Toggle a piece's Snap to grid in its action menu or with G.

Choose Measure, select a ruler, line, circle, or cone, and drag on the table to place it. You can move or delete your own measurements; GMs can manage everyone's. Clear mine removes yours, while Clear all is GM-only.

Notecards

Helpers and GMs can spawn Drawable notecard or Notecard stack from Library > Boards, Mats & Notecards > Notecards. Active players can edit a card already on the table: double-click, double-tap, or choose Inspect from its action menu.

Draw, add text, choose paper and orientation, then place the card face-up or face-down, or keep it in hand. Only one person can edit a card at a time. Cancel keeps the previous committed design. Only Helpers, GMs, and room owners can pass a notecard privately; ordinary players can receive one and use hand/table placement.

A stack holds 2-16 notecards. Double-click or double-tap to edit its top card privately. Return to top saves it back into the stack. Its action menu also offers Draw to hand, Draw & edit, Play top face-down, Shuffle, Split, and Move stack. The room limit is 16 notecards across the table, stacks, and hands.

Save and reuse notecard templates

In the notecard editor, choose Save template, enter a name, and save. Templates belong to your account and are private unless you enable Share with everyone on this server. This is separate from the administrator-curated asset library.

With Library access, open Boards, Mats & Notecards > Notecard Templates. Create card opens a new private draft; Copies > Create stack places independent face-down copies. Manage lets the template owner or a site administrator change its name, sharing, or design, or delete it. Existing copies do not change when their template changes. A saved template remains saved even if you later cancel the card draft.

Hidden objects

As a GM, open a piece's action menu and choose Hide from players or Reveal to players. Use right-click for most pieces, long-press on touch, or ContextMenu / Shift+F10. A card's right-click still flips it, so use the keyboard menu or long-press for hiding cards. Multi-Select also provides Hide and Reveal.

Hidden pieces appear ghosted to GMs, are omitted from player views, and do not collide. Release held pieces and finish edits first. Move a hidden piece into free space before revealing it. Library > Spawn hidden starts new pieces hidden and resets for each room. Personal tray dice stay visible.

Map fog and reveal auras

GMs open Fog beside Measure, or Menu > Table > Fog, and select the board. Enable fog, choose Reveal or Cover, and paint with a mouse or finger. Fog thickness controls the covered volume above the board. Undo covers up to 20 edits in the live room session. Done or Escape returns to normal table controls.

Player fog preview shows the opaque coverage locally for the GM. Fog is a visual cover over artwork already sent to the browser; it does not securely conceal the image file or hide pieces. Use Hide from players for objects that players should not receive.

For a moving reveal area, choose a piece's Fog aura… action, enable Reveal fog as this piece moves, set its radius, and choose Apply. Visible pieces leave explored areas behind. Hidden pieces pause their auras; boards, mats, and personal tray dice cannot have auras. Auras do not follow walls or enforce movement rules. Fog and aura settings survive scene/game saves; undo history does not.

Table tools

Room info > Room Notes is editable by GMs and visible to everyone. Notes opens your private notebook. Score opens the scoreboard, which Helpers and GMs can edit. Timer is shared. Chat is public to the room.

GMs show and position the whiteboard in Table Settings. Double-click or double-tap it to take drawing control; only one person draws at a time. Private notebooks, chat history, the timer, and whiteboard drawings are session tools, not durable game-save content. See Saving and resuming.

Music playback, sound levels, camera, and graphics preferences are local. More > Settings > UI > Graphics changes graphics quality; Apply & reload applies the quality preset. Settings > Placard changes your account's appearance after Save placard.
